It’s what we Yamane Ayano fans have all been waiting for, the Finder Series or Viewfinder finally has an English license again!>_< June Manga has officially announced the fact in their website. Come Summer 2010 *US summer, not Philippine time*, we can finally read the English tankoubon version!
But do you see a ‘yay’ from me? Nope, not really.
With June getting the title instead of Kitty Media or 801 Media, we can expect that the English version will have *lots* of them blurry boxes/faded images. Many YA fans have already expressed their concern regarding the censorship of this manga. A poll is currently being done in the Yamane Ayano LJ community meant to be sent to June to express this concern.
My yaoi manga collection consists mostly of June titles so I KNOW for a fact that June does censor some *steamy* parts. Now, how the heck can I enjoy Viewfinder with that? To Viewfinder readers, we all know that the manga has lots of those explicit scenes. Heck, the first chapter alone has a whole lot of ‘em: bondage, sadism, rape, you name it.O_O
Why JUNE anyway, when June and 801 Media are owned by the same company, Digital Manga Publishing??

And yes, to make a long story short, even if there will be censorship, I will still buy the Finder Series when it comes out. But I still truly wish there won’t be that many. June releasing this in B6 format means that they are willing to make changes for Yamane-sensei. *u*

Perhaps Digital Manga Publishing decided to give it to JUNE out of worry. If they published it under 801 Media or without any censorship, only a few people would buy it or parents would not want their kids to purchase those type of manga.
Now, I’m not exactly a diehard fan of Viewfinder (or specifically rape and stuff) but I understand how fans can feel disappointed and frustrated that although there will now be English versions, it won’t be the one they learned to love.
I’m not happy about it one bit. I was expecting that 801 Media will at least get the title ever since rumors of DMP winning the license began.T__T I love love loooove 801 Media releases.

I have read them, although like I said, I’m not so much a fan of certain things like rape. Do not worry though – I don’t judge others for what their points of views. I do sympathize with you guys who will get an English yet somewhat incomplete version of the manga.
